Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Accused Of Overshadowing King Charles’ Historic Engagement
An ex-royal aide said that Sussexes did not technically err; however, they should have consulted the King about their chosen dates before making arrangements.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to visit Nottingham tomorrow. This will mark their first joint appearance in the UK since returning to the UK in August. The couple is running a tight schedule that includes honoring three causes close to their hearts. However, the formal royal butler, Grant Harold, has called them out for upstaging King Charles and Queen Camilla’s historic visit to Wales.

"Prince Harry and Meghan’s day of engagements in Nottingham clashes with the King and Queen’s trip to Wales for the Ceremonial Opening of the Senedd. I imagine it is pure coincidence, but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to ruffle some feathers," Harold told GB News. "I think the King will be extremely frustrated by it, as will his team. They know that the chances of getting any media coverage have all but disappeared, as everyone will be far more interested in Meghan and Harry’s outing," he added.
Harold highlighted that the royal households strive to prevent scheduling conflicts, emphasizing the ongoing communication between the King’s team and Prince William and Princess Catherine’s team, given their complex schedules. In contrast, the Sussexes do not adhere to the official royal diary, as they are no longer working royals.

"They don’t need to check what’s going on, and their advisors aren’t working with the King and William’s teams to ensure this doesn’t happen. Whether they are an accident or on purpose is something we will probably never know, but the outcome is the same," Harold stated.
While concluding, he noted that the Sussexes did not technically err; however, they should have consulted the King about their chosen dates before making arrangements. "Just as a bit of courtesy and a respectful gesture. Things are still very tense and sensitive at the moment, and I think they should be going above and beyond to ensure they don’t cause any upset."

According to Nottingham Post, the Sussexes will begin their day at the Community Recording Studio (CRS) in St Ann’s. They will then visit Himmah, a charity addressing poverty and social issues, starting with cooking classes, followed by support for its food bank.
Their final stop will be Epic Partners in Sneinton, which supports children, young people, and families. Meanwhile, Their Majesties will be opening the Senedd even as they face stiff opposition from the republicans who are planning a walkout.
