President Trump Asked Queen Camilla One Question He Probably Shouldn’t Have During State Visit

The last thing Buckingham Palace needed was a President asking for gossip from the Queen, but US President Donald Trump seems to have done just that during his recent visit to the UK. According to reports, Donald, never one to dodge controversy, tried his way into coaxing Queen Camilla into spilling royal secrets about Meghan Markle over tea and ceremony at Windsor Castle.

During his state visit last month, Donald and First Lady Melania Trump were treated to all the royal grandeur the Palace could afford, which included military bands, polished guards, and an opulent banquet under Windsor’s chandeliers. However, despite all these formalities in place, apparently, Donald forgot to draw the line at asking for gossip.
“So what’s the gossip on Meghan then? What’s going on there?” Donald allegedly asked Queen Camilla, according to the Royalist’s substack. Camilla, however, handled the moment with her trademark dry humor. Rather than answering, she reportedly crossed her wrists, mimicking handcuffs, to suggest her lips were sealed. The gesture, as is reported, is one King Charles himself uses when he’s diplomatically avoiding a question.
Despite Donald's transgression, the royals pulled out all the stops to serve him, and by the looks of it, he lapped up every bit of the royal treatment. The Sussexes, meanwhile, were horrified, as they saw their entire family give the US President, who has time and again, publicly belittled them, the best treatment.

Donald used his state dinner toast to lavish praise on Prince William, calling him “Charles’s remarkable son.” For the Sussexes, insiders say, that felt like salt in an old wound. “It was a dig, no question,” a source stressed as per Rob Shutter's Substack. “Watching the family laugh along felt like betrayal.” Another friend of Prince Harry reportedly shared, “Harry and Meghan won’t forget this night — or the message it sent.”
Donald’s fascination with the British monarchy has always bordered on obsession, and Markle has been a particular fixation. Back in 2016, when she was still an actress, she described him as ‘misogynistic’ and ‘divisive’ during a late-night TV appearance. Those remarks resurfaced when she became engaged toHarry, prompting Donald to respond with a jab of his own. He slammed, “I didn’t know she was nasty.” He later denied saying it, blaming the media, until recordings proved otherwise.

While he’s tried to play nice on occasion, calling Markle 'very nice' and describing Harry as a 'terrific guy' during an interview with Piers Morgan, Donald’s patience quickly wore thin after the couple’s royal exit. When Harry and Markle moved to Los Angeles in 2020, he publicly declared the US would not pay for their security, tweeting, “They must pay!”
Since then, the relationship has only gone south. The couple’s 2020 video, urging Americans to vote, was widely seen as a thinly veiled endorsement of Joe Biden, drawing Donald's ire. “I’m not a fan of hers,” he said at a White House press briefing. “I wish a lot of luck to Harry — he’s going to need it.”
