One Royal Might Be the Key to Fixing Harry and William's Relationship — and It's Not Charles

With Prince Harry returning to the UK, Kate Middleton is reportedly working behind the scenes to mend family ties.

The relationship between the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has remained strained after years of estrangement. However, Kate Middleton is reportedly hoping to bridge the divide. According to new reports, the Princess of Wales is open to reconciliation in the interest of family unity and is said to be encouraging Prince William to put the past behind him and consider a reunion with Prince Harry when the Duke returns to the U.K. with his family later this month.

A source, as per Us Weekly, has alleged that Kate has been instrumental in attempting to bring about a change of heart in William. "At this time, William is not planning to be there, but things could change. Kate has been trying to convince William to meet with Harry, Meghan, and the kids," the insider highlighted. The insider further added that the Princess of Wales is eager to see the children, Archie and Lilibet, as such opportunities have been rare. "She is hoping that William will show up, but she will respect his decision," the insider added. The source further claimed that William would initiate contact only if his brother is ready to make amends, suggesting the timeline is dictated by Harry's readiness rather than William's.

Additionally, the source also affirmed that King Charles hopes to schedule a meeting with the Sussexes. While acknowledging that rebuilding fractured family relationships will take time, the monarch reportedly sees the visit as an important first step. Queen Camilla is also said to be supportive of efforts to heal the rift. "He’s hoping it’s the first step toward repairing the relationship between Harry and William, as well," the source noted. The source went on to claim that opportunities for the royal family to see Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are incredibly rare, making news of their visit particularly significant. According to the insider, the family is eager to make the most of what could be a rare chance to spend time with the children.

In a May 2025 BBC interview, Prince Harry expressed a heartfelt wish for reconciliation with the Royal Family, stating, "I would love a reconciliation with my family." He highlighted the urgency of this desire due to concerns about his father, King Charles's, health. While Harry has publicly expressed his desire to mend family ties, any meaningful reconciliation will ultimately depend on whether the brothers are willing to put years of hurt and public conflict behind them.
