Kate Middleton has barely slowed down despite being in remission from cancer. Since completing her treatment in September 2024, the Princess of Wales has kept up with public appearances and royal duties, demonstrating strong dedication to her role. After she was welcomed with a standing ovation at Wimbledon second year in a row, Daily Mirror ran a poll that highlighted her significant influence and commitment to the Crown. According to the results, a whopping 78% of respondents believe the royal family wouldn't be as popular or relevant as it is today without her.

As Middleton continues balancing her cancer recovery and public duties with candor, she cements herself as a modern face of the monarchy. The poll shows that out of the 21,023 participants, a significant 16,417 agreed that the royal family would not survive or be relevant today without Middleton's influence.

As reported by The Mirror, royal watchers took to the comment section of the poll and said the same thing about her importance in the monarchy. A royal fan gushed, "You are so lucky to have a very professional, clever, and well-educated person as Princess of Wales. She is a princess of today!" In a similar vein, another echoed, "Kate is the best thing for the Royal Family since Princess Diana." A netizen added, "Always elegant and charming. One of the best royals." As the comments poured in, a reader opined, "I’m sorry to those who are anti-royal, but some, like the Prince and Princess of Wales, bring a lot to the table. They do a lot behind the scenes, which is not reported on."

The 22% who disagreed with Middleton's influence also shared their views in the comments. A netizen said, "If Catherine did not exist, someone equally attractive in appearance and personality could well be married to William. Catherine is understandably very popular, but so was Queen Elizabeth II before her." Another echoed, "Neither of them ever got close to the most popular royal in history, Diana. She was on a level Kate cannot dream of." A royal watcher also opined, "The royal family survived before she came along and would do had she not...glad she is here though as she makes William happy."

A YouGov survey in May 2025 also cited the Princess of Wales as the most popular member in the royal family. According to the Daily Mail, Prince William and Middleton topped the list of most favored royals, with 75% holding a positive opinion of the Prince of Wales and 72% feeling the same about the Princess. Only 13% had a negative view of Middleton, while 15% were unsure. As per The List, Middleton is widely admired for her genuine warmth and relatability, rooted in her middle-class background, as well as her style, influence, charitable efforts, mental health advocacy, and quiet resilience under pressure.
