Melania Trump’s Message to Queen Camilla About Kate and William Finally Revealed
What Melania Trump asked Queen Camilla to share with Kate offers a glimpse into a more personal royal relationship
King Charles and Queen Camilla’s recent trip to the United States has been the talk of the town. Hosted by President Donald Trump and the First Lady herself, the royal couple was well taken care of. However, before leaving, Melania Trump had a few words for Kate Middleton and Prince William that she wanted Camilla to pass on.
On April 30, Camilla and Charles took their leave from the U.S. and their gracious hosts, Trump and Melania. While saying their final goodbyes, according to a lip reader, Nicola Hickling, the First Lady said a few words to the Queen before she returned to the U.K. She revealed to The Sun that Melania said, “Good luck with everything and enjoy yourself. Send my love to Catherine and William and their children.”
Melania Trump is said to have a soft spot for the Princess of Wales, according to Marie Claire. When the Trumps traveled to the U.K. for a state visit last September, the two women even stepped out together for an engagement, giving them a chance to connect more personally.
Moreover, as reported by Richard Eden from The Daily Mail, the Trumps have also extended an invitation to Prince William and Middleton, asking them to visit the U.S. sometime this summer. “Melania wants Catherine, in particular, to come. She admires her greatly and would love her to visit,” a source told Eden. In fact, they also spent time together during a joint outing with young Scouts last September. Dwayne Fields later shared with PEOPLE that both Catherine and Melania came across as genuinely warm and friendly with each other.
It is also worth noting that Melania also maintains a special friendship with King Charles. While taking the royal couple on a tour of the White House beehives, she made a light-hearted joke that caught attention. Knowing Charles is known for his love of organic food, she made a joke about his sweet tooth. As she leaned in and briefly touched his arm, she told the staff with a smile, “We’ll put in extra for Their Majesties, yes? Because they are lovers of honey.”
To subtly nod to Charles and his well-known love for honey, Melania made sure the state dinner menu had a special touch. One dessert, in particular, that stood out was a beehive-shaped chocolate cake filled with silky vanilla bean crémeux. It was even made using honey sourced from the White House’s beehive itself.
Ahead of the state dinner, the King made a historic speech to the members of Congress at the U.S. Capitol. It was a significant moment, as he became only the second British monarch to do so, following Queen Elizabeth. In his address, he touched on big global issues, including NATO, the situation in the Middle East, and the long-standing ties between the U.S. and the U.K.
