Meghan Markle's Career Plans Have Prince Harry 'Very Wary': 'He's Riling Her Up'
Meghan Markle allegedly has plans to expand her As Ever lifestyle brand overseas and has her sights set on the UK. While Prince Harry is said to have reservations about the scale and cost of the move, sources reveal he hasn’t discouraged Markle either from pushing forward with her ambition to take over the British jam market as part of a global rollout.
As Ever recently faced backlash over a website glitch that exposed large inventory records for several products, approx. 220,000 jars of jam, 30,000 jars of honey, 90,000 candles, 80,000 flower sprinkles tin, and around 70,000 bottles of wine. The unusually high number led to online speculation that the sales were reflective of the brand underperforming. However, an insider has pushed back on the idea, arguing that the figures indicate strong demand, with Markle preparing for international growth instead of struggling to move stock.
That expansion seems to go hand in hand with the Duchess’s reported next steps. As per Closer, a source has revealed that she believes it is the right moment to scale up. They said, “She's been gearing up for this next phase for a long time; that's why there's been so much stock produced, and she's ready to pull the trigger.” The source added that Markle believes she can make “some serious money” by expanding across the markets of Europe and Asia. They shared, “It will give her a lot of satisfaction to dominate the UK jam market, which is something she really believes will be possible once her brand is exposed to a wider audience in Britain.”
Still, there is a major financial risk that has Harry 'very wary.' The same source shared how he is uneasy about the cost one has to bear with international distribution and marketing after a string of professional setbacks. The source claimed, “He isn’t saying that she ought to throw in the towel; he just wants her to take it at a more sensible pace as the cash isn’t flowing the way it used to,” adding, "If Harry wants to stay on her good side, he’d do well to stop trying to be the voice of reason. She’s not going to take his advice anyway, and all he’s doing is riling her up."
