People Think Meghan Markle Used Her Son Archie to Take a Subtle Dig at Kate Middleton: ‘I Might Get…’
During her recent appearance at the TIME 100 Summit, Meghan Markle took a swipe at Kate Middleton by using her son, Prince Archie.
Meghan Markle has had her hands full being a serial entrepreneur (new podcast, Netflix series, fashion website & lifestyle brand) and mom to two kids. At her recent appearance at the TIME 100 Summit on April 23, she stated wanting to fly back home so as not to miss out on seeing her son lose his first tooth. Given the fact that this mention came hours after Kate Middleton posted a photo of her son with missing front teeth, fans couldn't help but find the timing sketchy.
The Prince and Princess of Wales posted an adorable photo of Prince Louis on Instagram in celebration of his 7th birthday. As per The List, Markle's mention of Prince Archie’s loose tooth hence was an alleged attempt at reminding everyone of her family too. As reported by the Daily Mail, she said at the summit, “What we're going to put out during our next launch is equally as important to me as Archie getting his first [big] tooth this week. It's about to happen, I might get back just in time for it!”

As footage of Markle's Archie remark made its rounds on X (formerly Twitter), netizens pointed out the subtle shade. A person slammed, "We all knew she had something planned to distract from Prince Louis' special day." Another chimed, "I wonder if she knocked Archie’s tooth out ? because I highly doubt a 5-year-old would have lost his tooth." A royal watcher also noted, "Younger Archie is losing his first tooth in the same week we see his cousin missing two."

Markle also took an alleged second swipe at her sister-in-law by bringing up her family’s health onstage amidst Middleton’s battle with cancer. As reported by Nicki Swift, she said, “To... have a husband who is just so supportive and to have healthy kids that are so joyful. I never would have imagined getting here.” The outlet argues that, considering the tragic moments from which the royal family is still reeling, Markle’s boasting about her health and happiness would land her in hot water.
The Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales have had a long-standing feud even before Markle married Harry and joined the royal fold. In his memoir, Spare, Harry wrote about Markle and Middleton’s fractured relationship. He recalled an incident where Middleton once made Markle cry before her wedding over Princess Charlotte's 'baggy' bridesmaid dress. He also cited another incident when Middleton allegedly ‘grimaced’ when his wife borrowed her lip balm and applied it with her hands. Markle and Middleton last saw each other at Queen Elizabeth II’s memorial service in September 2022.
