Meghan Markle and Prince Harry first met on a blind date in 2016 and tied the knot in a fairytale ceremony two years later. The pair recently celebrated their seventh anniversary on May 19. In a heartfelt gesture, Markle shared a mood board of her and Harry's happiest moments together. One of the many pictures posted took royal fans back to their lavish wedding.
Markle and Harry have not shied away from professing their love for each other publicly. The Duchess’s ‘love tribute’ collage was captioned, “Seven years of marriage. A lifetime of stories. Thanks to all of you (whether by our side or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story. We appreciate you. Happy anniversary!” The post featured the couple snuggling with their children and vacationing together, including in Botswana (their first together when they began dating).
People magazine analyzed some of the couple’s special memories in Markle’s college. The publication reports that starting with their blind date, the post takes a nostalgic journey through the Sussexes' early courtship. It features a cozy selfie in London and also a getaway to Norway. From 2017, it includes highlights from their engagement shoot and iconic moments from their 2018 royal wedding. Also featured are their beloved dogs, a sketch of Markle’s coat of arms designed for their joint crest, and the lyrics to Stand by Me, their wedding song in St. George’s Chapel.
Some other milestones in the collage included an ultrasound image of baby Archie and Harry cradling him shortly after his birth. Following their royal exit in 2020, the montage includes Markle cuddling with Princess Lilibet, and a sweet shot of her in her crib in 2021. In 2022, the couple is seen painting with their kids, and Archie and Lilibet sharing a kiss beside their Christmas tree.
A year after their fairytale wedding, Markle gave birth to Archie on May 6, 2019. Two years later, the pair welcomed daughter Lilibet on June 4, 2021. Harry penned in his memoir, Spare, “We both wanted to start a family straightaway. We were working crazy hours, our jobs were demanding, and the timing wasn’t ideal, but not too bad.” It isn't just Markle professing her love for Harry, the Prince has also shared on many occasions how he fell head over heels for his wife. Shortly after their engagement, Harry gushed to the BBC, “I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly — it was a confirmation to me that all the stars were aligned. This beautiful woman literally tripped and fell into my life.” In Spare, he reiterated that his life drastically changed for the better after falling in love and starting a family with Markle.
