Meghan Markle Announces Surprise Festive Drop Amid Sandringham Invite Uncertainty
Meghan Markle just announced a new launch for her first Christmas back in the UK.
Meghan Markle is set to celebrate her first Christmas in the UK since her return. Currently, there is a lot of uncertainty on whether she and Prince Harry will receive an invite to Sandringham with the rest of the royal family. Regardless, the Duchess of Sussex is already prepared to make this year’s holiday season extra special with a brand new As Ever drop.
The lifestyle brand will launch its first-ever Advent Calendar this week for a “magical celebration of the season.” As Ever recently announced the new drop on social media in collaboration with Los Angeles chocolatier Compartes. The royal blue Advent Calendar channels old-school Christmas charm and comprises 24 “sweet surprises.” Fans can pre-order their limited-edition calendars “made for the joy of anticipation” this week for November deliveries, with the brand noting, “Some things are worth the wait.”
Markle previously showcased a homemade Advent Calendar for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet during With Love, Meghan’s holiday special last year. The red-and-white cloth hampers featured the kids’ names, with the Duchess filling each pocket with small surprises and appreciative notes. In recent years, beauty and lifestyle brands have turned Advent Calendars into PR packages and special holiday hampers, and the royal entrepreneur is tapping into the trend with a sprinkle of her own Christmas magic.
The Duchess has always loved the holiday season. During a 2024 interview with Marie Claire, she said, “At first, I think as a mum with children you're just enjoying having them there, but they're not understanding everything that's happening yet. But now we're at the age where I just can't wait to see it through their lens every year.” The doting mother would surely have special plans for her kids’ first proper Christmas in the UK.
In the As Ever newsletter last year, she shared a snippet of her Christmas celebrations, noting that she and Harry went to great lengths to “make sure 'Santa' had enjoyed his cookies and 'the reindeer' had eaten their carrots.” The mother of two wrote, “Anything to maintain the morning magic of Christmas through our children’s eyes,” adding that she even made dim sum for the Christmas Eve feast.
While Markle may have left the UK on a bitter note in 2020, she carried with her a popular holiday tradition to California: the Christmas cracker. She even shared the festive custom with Will Guidara when he guest-starred on her holiday special, leaving many to wonder if she will get to enjoy it with the royal family this year.
