King Charles Wants to See Archie and Lilibet ― But There's One Major Problem, Expert Claims
A potential reunion between King Charles and Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet remains uncertain as questions continue over the Sussexes’ UK plans.
King Charles has reportedly been eagerly waiting to meet his youngest grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet; however, his patience seems to have been waning ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been oscillating about their plans due to security concerns. The Sussexes were expected to touch down with their children this week, but the Duke arrived solo. It was also claimed that Markle would be joining him during today's event at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham to flag off the "1 Year To Go" event with dedicated veterans, but the Duchess pulled out at the last minute. This raises questions about whether the monarch will get to spend time with his estranged son's children since it now seems a bit impossible. An expert weighed in on this situation and highlighted that King Charles is on the verge of giving up due to Prince Harry's tantrums.
"Of course, grandfather Charles wants to see his Montecito grandchildren," Chard told Fox News Digital. "He just does not want the Sussex drama. King Charles is fed up — fed up with the rolling media briefings, the last-minute changes of plan, the security fight being litigated in public and in court," British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard commented after The Mirror published an article stating that the monarch wishes to reconcile and make amends for the time lost. Chard further pointed out the Sussexes' mistake of keeping the King on his toes with their indecisive behaviour. The drama about choosing a royal residence till the last minute was the final straw that snapped Charles. "Then there was the accommodation offer made, declined, and then re-requested. The visit with the children is confirmed, then canceled, and then maybe back on. It pulls the monarchy into a circus it cannot control." The broadcaster explained that this action by the ex-royals has jeopardized their chances of gaining any further favors from the King.
According to Chard, the reputational damage to the royal family has been significant. Publicly reintegrating the Sussexes would mean that the monarchy is acting out due to external pressure. For a private meeting between the King and his grandchildren to occur, careful planning is essential, and Harry and Meghan must accept the King's terms to maintain the family's dignity and avoid mockery of the 'firm'. "If Harry and Meghan want the king to meet his grandchildren, it will have to be strictly private, properly planned, and without the press in tow," Chard stated. Meanwhile, British royal expert Hilary Fordwich had previously stated that Prince Harry's court case regarding security has caused an additional burden on King Charles.
"Every time it looks as if there might be a last-minute chance for some sort of tender reunion, it all falls apart," Christopher Andersen, author of "The King," previously told Fox News Digital. Meanwhile, Harry has been continuing with his Invictus Games obligations without Markle.
