King Charles Has a Secret Weapon To End William and Harry's Feud — And He May Be Getting To Work

Prince William and Prince Harry have not been seeing eye to eye since years, but King Charles has had enough of the troubled family dynamics.

The rift between Prince William and Prince Harry has only widened since the younger sibling left the royal family in 2020 with his wife, Meghan Markle. While there have been hopes that the two brothers will overcome their differences, the reality is rather saddening. However, it seems that their father, King Charles, has decided to step in and sort out the differences between his two sons, with the help of his deputy private secretary, Theo Rycroft.

Rycroft, who has only been by the monarch’s side since February, has quickly earned goodwill and trust from the palace. His first mission is to get William and Harry to start talking. They haven’t spoken to each other since their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth’s, funeral in 2022. But the deputy private secretary might find his opportunity sooner rather than later, as the Duke of Sussex is expected to arrive in the UK in July to begin preparations for the 2027 Invictus Games.

According to the Daily Mail, Rycroft hopes to arrange a meeting between Charles and Harry before moving on to convince William to join them. So much has happened between the Sussexes and the royal family, but hopefully that will be water under the bridge once the trio meets with each other. The three of them have been in the same vicinity since 2020, as Harry visited the UK for family affairs sometimes, but there is no clarity about whether any constructive communication took place. In his memoir, Harry had mentioned a disastrous meeting between him, William and Charles after Prince Philip's funeral, and it obviously didn't turn the tide.

Harry has previously expressed his desire to reconcile with his family. There have been speculations of possible reconciliations between him and the royals, but there has been no substantial result from it. Since they departed from the UK, Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have revealed quite a few sensational details from their time there, be it through their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, their six-part docu-series with Netflix, or in Harry’s bombshell memoir. Every single revelation certainly worsened things between them and the family.

Their son, Prince Archie, was born in the UK, but shifted with his parents when he was not even a year old. Their daughter, on the other hand, Princess Lilibet, was born in the US. The two kids had visited the UK in 2022 for their great-grandmother’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. While that was the first time that Lilibet got to meet her namesake, that meeting also proved to be the last, as the sovereign passed a few months later. Harry has previously expressed his doubts over bringing Markle and the children to the UK without police protection, which he is currently contesting.

Although it is unlikely, there is still hope that the Duke would bring along Archie and Lilibet with him to the UK when he visits in July. The kids haven’t crossed the Atlantic in four years and haven’t met the royal family.
