Kate Middleton May Follow the Sussexes' Playbook? One Secret Detail at Wimbledon Gave It Away
Kate Middleton may not be in touch with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but she might choose a similar route.
When Kate Middleton walked into Wimbledon on Thursday, all eyes immediately went to her unusual styling choice. The fashion icon had always pulled outfits from her closet of vibrant dresses whenever she had made an appearance at the grass court before, but this time she opted for a chic blue blazer and matching trousers. Just as the eyebrows were about to raise, in doubt and wonder, eagle-eyed fans noticed a tiny detail: a secret recording device beneath her blazer. The concealed transmitter was spotted after images of her at Wimbledon were released online, prompting only one question. Is the Princess of Wales going down the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle path?
For the longest time, Harry and Markle had been Netflix darlings. They had to be. The two controversial royals had given the streaming giant their biggest documentary debut in 2022. With a strong partnership secured, Netflix released documentaries produced by them, gave a platform to the Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle show, and even partnered with her brand, As Ever. But the fallout was as public as the love between the couple and Netflix. Now, however, it seems that the Princess of Wales might be joining the content club.
The signs had been there for months. Rob Shuter had revealed in Naughty but Nice Substack in March this year that Netflix was engaged in “backchannel conversations” with Prince William and Middleton. When the beloved princess undertook the Three Peaks Challenge earlier this week, she was followed by a camera crew. With the discovery of a recording device at Wimbledon, the stars may have finally aligned for the popular royals’ on-screen appearance.
William and Middleton are two of the most loved figures within the royal family. The couple has undertaken causes that reflect the present world, be it early childhood education, mental health awareness, or tackling homelessness. And it seems that the Prince and Princess of Wales have been taking real strides in their humanitarian efforts.
Earlier this year, Middleton had traveled to Italy to observe, understand, and learn about the globally acclaimed ‘Reggio Emilia method’ in early childhood development. She recently penned a heart-touching essay about her experience and the insights she gained there. And in an outstanding feat, she completed the Three Peaks Challenge to raise awareness about cancer and support the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. She even made a personal donation to a young boy whom she met during the challenge recently. On the other hand, William marked the latest stage of Homewards, his initiative to support the homeless, this week. He has also been visiting several mental health projects and organizations.
There would be no better time than the present to highlight William and Middleton on the screen. They are the faces of a modern era of the monarchy, and of course the future King and Queen of England. But the question remains what the on-screen project would be.
