Kate Middleton Channels Autumn Elegance for Prince George's First Day at Eton

Royal watchers were excitedly looking out to see George mark his special day, but they couldn't ignore how elegant Kate looked.

Prince William and Princess Kate's eldest, Prince George, has officially reached another major milestone as he begins his school journey at Eton. Accompanied by his parents for the big day, the 13-year-old entered the prestigious Berkshire school on Tuesday. His parents were visibly proud and emotional seeing their son mark the milestone, a particularly meaningful moment for William, who was a pupil at Eton himself between 1995 and 2000. While royal watchers were excitedly looking out to see George mark his special day that will go down in the history books, they also couldn't ignore how elegant his mother, Kate, looked right by his side.

For a few days, the Princess was away from the public eye, and while George’s first day was naturally the main focus, Kate made sure to arrive in style. For the day, she donned a beautiful emerald green dress from the shelves of her favorite designer, Emilia Wickstead. Kate paired the dress with Gianvito Rossi pumps and accessorized it with a statement Laura Lombardi necklace and Cartier earrings.

For her makeup, Kate kept it minimal with a glowy base and pink-flushed lips. She wore her hair down in her signature loose waves and was also seen carrying an umbrella as light rain fell during the school drop-off. Her look was naturally compared to Princess Diana's less formal outfit when dropping off William for his first day at Eton in 1995. The late Princess wore a striking blue blazer over a simple black midi dress, which she paired with a sling bag and matching black heels.

Interestingly, while Prince Harry accompanied William on his first day at Eton, George's siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, were nowhere to be seen. The last time the Wales family of five was seen together was earlier this month when they attended the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. William, Kate, and their children were also pictured during their summer break in Scotland.

With George now starting at Eton, the Wales family is heading into what looks set to be a busy autumn. William is expected to travel to Norway for King Harald’s funeral, while he and Kate are also expected to play an important role during the Sultan of Oman's State Visit in October.
