Doria Ragland to the Rescue: Meghan Markle's Mom Moves Into Sussex Mansion to Help Royal Rebels During 'Tough Times'
Meghan Markle's mom, Doria Ragland, has reportedly moved into the Sussex mansion to help her daughter and Prince Harry during 'tough times.'
Doria Ragland has reportedly moved into her daughter Meghan Markle's Montecito mansion. The yoga teacher is living in the ex-working royals' guest house and is aiding the duo during "tough times."
"2023 was a tough year for both Harry and Meghan, and Doria has been there for them," a source revealed. "Doria looks fighting fit, but she’s nearly 70 and gets tired of the car rides from her home to see her daughter and grandchildren."
"Doria has really been Meghan’s rock over the past year. Not only has she been there for her daughter but has enjoyed helping to look after the grandchildren," the source added. "Harry adores her as well and loves having her there. There are times when he needs alone time, so Doria heads over to the guesthouse to make herself scarce when needed."
Doria has likely also become a surrogate mom to Harry, which he has allegedly always wanted since losing his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales when he was 12 years old. "Doria has basically become the mother of the household," the insider observed. "Harry loves to be mothered so he finds Doria being there very refreshing."
They continued: "It takes nearly three hours to drive one way, so it made sense for her to move into the guesthouse. She now spends more time there than in her own house."
The insider further revealed how Meghan has been "depending" on her mother's support throughout the constant downs and rare ups of the previous year.
"Harry appreciates the warmth and kindness that Doria brings to the family. He doesn’t get that from his side of the family and thinks it important that the children are close with their grandmother," they spilled.
Ragland is often seen traveling with Meghan and Harry, and recently, she attended the Beyoncé concert with the couple. In the docuseries, Harry & Meghan, the Duke of Sussex and Ragland couldn't help but gush over their relationship.
"Her mom's amazing," Harry said.
"He was 6'1, a handsome man with red hair, and really great manners. He was just really nice. And they looked really happy together. Yeah, like he was the one," Ragland shared.
"Harry is keen to come back to the U.K. this year, but there needs to be a lot ironed out in terms of security arrangements and other logistics before that can happen. Harry wants to secure a house for the family in the countryside so that they can spend as much time as they want in England," the source concluded.
It is unclear what projects Harry and Meghan will immerse themselves in this year.
