"Don't Move!": Prince William Shares Funny Parenting Tip with Mom of Sleeping Newborn
Prince William gave onlookers a glimpse of just how kind and empathetic the future King is.
It is a well-known fact that drama is never too far from the royal family. Yet despite the ongoing noise, Prince William continues to step up for his official duties. The Prince of Wales recently visited Ilminster, Somerset, where he took part in local safety demonstrations to see how the community responds to severe weather threats like floods and fires. During the visit, he also launched a new National Emergencies Trust (NET) initiative, the Ready Together Toolkit, designed to help local communities better prepare for disasters.
Beyond this, the Prince of Wales also did a meet-and-greet with the royal fans and well-wishers present in the crowd. During the outing, William crossed paths with a new mum, who was waiting to meet him with her four-week-old baby, according to HELLO!. The Prince, who is himself a father of three, asked her, “How old?" The mother responded, "Four weeks!" He then asked if it was her first baby, to which she smiled warmly and replied, “No, second.”
Upon discovering this, he waved his hand in the air and replied in a reassuring tone, “dab hand!” While they were conversing, the baby was peacefully asleep. William then learned that the newborn wasn't typically the best sleeper, prompting him to joke, “Don’t move!” Drawing on his experience as a father, the Prince clearly knew the golden rule of sleeping babies. Once news of the interaction circulated online, fans quickly praised the royal for his sweet gesture.
In fact, one of William’s ardent fans wrote, “William is a beautiful human being who is so much like his Mum was!” They added, "This is why people love William. So natural and caring, asking about the baby sleeping! Future king with such a kind heart." The brief exchange offered a lovely glimpse into the empathetic nature of the future King. For a royal known for his steadfast duty, it was a simple reminder that memorable moments can happen at any time.
