Buckingham Palace Shares BTS Footage of King Charles' Speech
Keeping the decades-long tradition alive, King Charles addressed the nation on 25th December, 2025, on the occasion of Christmas. It has been a custom in the royal family for the ruling monarch to address the nation. The practice was started by King George V in 1932 and continued by his successor. Royal enthusiasts wait for the speech all year round, and it has now become a part of their holiday practice. This year, too, the King addressed the nation, but not from his office but from an external location.

The King was also seen in a jovial mood in the video as he interacted with the crew members and checked the end result on the monitor. Fans from all over the world showered love and appreciation on the video. The video has over 100K views and hundreds of comments.
"Highest viewing figures on Christmas Day - Long Live the King! Showing people what it really means for Christ to be at the heart of Christmas and for remembering British values of tolerance, unity, and respect," wrote an X user. While another added, "The Christmas message serves as a poignant moment of shared reflection and unity, and the creative craftsmanship that brings it to life is indeed commendable." They continued, " It is a reminder of the quiet, collaborative effort that underpins our most cherished public traditions. A thoughtful and uplifting production."
While some were miffed with the monarch for not talking about the mishaps in the governments, others were impressed by his kind words. Interestingly, the King, during his speech, also talked about reconciliation, which many linked to the speculation of his impending reunion with his youngest son, Prince Harry. “With the great diversity of our communities, we can find the strength to ensure that right triumphs over wrong. It seems to me that we need to cherish the values of compassion and reconciliation," he added.
While his stance is not clear, one thing is for sure: the King wants a united front and is adaption to diplomatic measures to maintain peace. During his speech, he condemned violent actions like war and destruction and promoted courage and resilience. "For instance, it is impossible not to be deeply moved by the ages of the fallen as the gravestones in our War Cemeteries remind us," he opined. Charles concluded his speech by wishing his people a very Merry Christmas.
