Royal Reunion on the Cards? King Charles and Prince Harry Expected to Meet Face-to-Face Next Month

Prince Harry and King Charles are reportedly working to reshape their fractured relationship into one built on trust and transparency. Last month, it was reported that the Duke of Sussex agreed to share his official schedule with the royal family in an effort to avoid overshadowing them and as part of the ‘peace summit’ between his aides and the King’s team. Now, in another positive step, a new report claims the estranged father and son may meet face-to-face next month, coinciding with Harry’s upcoming visit to the UK for his WellChild patronage.

A new report by PEOPLE revealed that while Harry hopes for reconciliation with his family, his attempts to reach Prince William have allegedly gone unanswered. As for a reunion with Charles, the report speculates that a face-to-face meeting could take place in September when Harry returns to the U.K. to support WellChild, a charity for children with life-limiting conditions. Whether that reunion will come to fruition remains unknown, but if it does, it will mark their first meeting since February 2024, when Charles disclosed his cancer diagnosis. Even that visit was brief, with the Duke reportedly spending only 30 minutes with his father.

Even though Charles and Harry's 2024 meeting was short, the Duke was overjoyed to see his ailing father after four years away, having stepped down as a senior royal in 2020. In an interview with Good Morning America, he said at the time, "The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that. I jumped on a plane and went to see him as soon as I could." He also hinted at more visits with his family, adding, "I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can." If the Duke stays true to his words, his speculated September 2025 meeting with the King could signal that their strained relationship is moving in a positive direction.

Royal expert Kinsey Schofield also echoed that Charles and Harry could meet in person when the Duke travels to the U.K. She told Sky News Australia, "It could happen in September, during the WellChild Awards. A quick meet and greet with Charles and Harry, depending on the King’s schedule." The Duke has been announced as a nominee for the upcoming awards and is expected to attend, while the monarch’s attendance will depend on his schedule, as the royal family will be preparing for U.S. President Donald Trump’s second U.K. visit.
As for Harry and Charles's alleged 'peace summit', on July 9, the Daily Mail reported that the Duke's chief of staff, Meredith Maines, and the King's communications secretary, Tobyn Andreae, privately met at the Royal Over-Seas League. The meeting allegedly opened the channel of communication between the two parties. A source spilled, "There's a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years. There was no formal agenda, just casual drinks. There were things both sides wanted to talk about."
