Royal Fans Predict Prince Louis' Upcoming Duties, Say He Could Be Entering His ‘Pageboy Era’

Royal watchers are eager to see Prince Louis take on more visible royal duties during family affairs. After his cheeky antics at Trooping the Color grabbed headlines, fans can't wait to see what he'll do next. With the wedding bells soon ringing for another royal couple, the seven-year-old son of Kate Middleton and Prince William may have an important task on the occasion, putting him once again in the spotlight.
A young male attendant serving in the royal family is known as a pageboy. Ahead of Louis, several members of the family, including Prince William, Prince Harry, and Prince George, have served as pageboys during royal events. With the Duke of Kent’s granddaughter, Lady Marina Windsor, announcing her engagement to Nico Macauley, fans are predicting Louis could be entering his "pageboy era", given that the duke does not have any male descendants under 12 years of age.
A fan took to X (formerly Twitter) to predict the young prince’s rumoured role and wrote, “Hear hear! There's no male descendants of Prince George, Duke of Kent that are under 12 years old. So Marina's closest potential pageboy relative from her father's side is Louis. Louis pageboy era is finally coming?” Another excited fan penned, “I would give anything to see video of him doing his pageboy duties.”

While hoping to see Louis play the role, one fan pointed out that the little prince has never played the pageboy in any wedding, unlike his siblings, George and Charlotte, who have already had their chance. The netizen wrote, “Poor Louis has been robbed of his page boy era. His brother and sister are wedding party pros.” Amid the discussion, some royal fans also pointed out that the Wales are unlikely to attend the wedding, saying, “Not to crash your dreams, but I would be surprised if they attend the wedding.” Another explained, “Louis Windsor, Prince Louis’s cousin and namesake, is 11 years old and Marina’s first cousin. He’s the most probable pageboy. While in our wonderful extended family, everybody is really close to everybody, and Marina Charlotte is a kind lady, I doubt Prince Louis will be in her bridal party.” It has not been confirmed yet who will be attending Marina’s wedding.
William was spotted playing the role of a pageboy during Camilla Dunne and Honorable Rupert Soames, and Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s weddings. On the other hand, Harry took up the honorable role at his uncle and Princess Diana’s brother Charles Spencer’s, wedding to Victoria Lockwood in 1989. As noted by Hello! Magazine, Louis's siblings, George and Charlotte, have been the heart of weddings for years.
Undeniably, Harry’s 2018 wedding to Meghan Markle was one of the biggest events where the siblings took on the adorable roles. While Charlotte was the flower girl, George was the pageboy who wore a matching outfit as his father and uncle. The two siblings also attended their aunt Pippa Middleton’s wedding to James Matthews in 2017 and then Princess Eugenie’s nuptials to Jack Brooksbank in 2018.
