Queen Camilla Receives a Special Wish From William and Kate — and It's the Sweetest Thing Ever
Prince William and Kate Middleton have extended their wishes to Queen Camilla on her 79th birthday.
It’s Queen Camilla’s 79th birthday! And as sweet tributes and messages pour in to wish the Queen Consort on her special day, Prince William and Kate Middleton also extended their best wishes to her. The royal couple, who have had a hectic few days, took to social media to send their lovely message.
William and Middleton reshared a birthday portrait posted by the royal family’s Instagram page onto their stories, writing, “Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a very Happy Birthday!” The couple concluded their sweet message with a cake emoji. As senior working royals, the Prince and Princess of Wales spend a lot of time with Camilla and King Charles at royal events. Most recently, the quartet was seen together at Garter Day and Royal Ascot.
In the official birthday portrait captured by Chris Jackson, the Queen Consort can be seen wearing her favorite color - blue. For the special picture, she opted for a cobalt blue dress with embroidery detailing. She completed the look with hand accessories, earrings, a pendant, and a dazzling butterfly brooch. And per her usual tradition, this brooch, too, carries significant meaning. The diamond and sapphire accessory previously belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth. It was gifted to the monarch at the Birmingham Spring Fair in 1977.
The Palace shared an important message about Camilla’s “renewed commitment” in the birthday post on Instagram. “Happy Birthday to The Queen! Her Majesty has marked her birthday with a renewed commitment to supporting children’s literacy, with the announcement that every Year 6 and P6 child across the UK will be gifted a special edition of the bestselling book ‘Impossible Creatures’ by award-winning author Katherine Rundell, this Christmas. Led by the National Literacy Trust, of which The Queen is Patron, the program celebrates the National Year of Reading 2026,” the caption read.
While literacy is a cause the Queen Consort famously champions, she has also undertaken various other causes that are immensely close to her heart. She recently had a poignant outing when she marked 40 years of the now-Royal Osteoporosis Society at Clarence House. Her mother, Rosalind Shand, and grandmother had passed away from the disease, making it an emotional moment for Camilla. She had begun working with the then-National Osteoporosis Society in 1994, the same year of her mother’s unfortunate demise. “Together, we can— and we will—see the end of osteoporosis forever,” she said in her moving speech, via Marie Claire.
Camilla will celebrate her 79th birthday quietly at Highgrove, according to reports. It will certainly be a day filled with joy, excitement, and love for the Queen Consort.
