The big reveal is here! Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, shared what they named their newborn son, who was born on February 9, in an adorable Instagram post.
“We wanted to introduce you to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.. ????,” the 30-year-old captioned a snap with her hubby holding the tot. “Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can't express. We are excited to be able to share these photos with you.?”
?”? By our wonderful midwife,” she added. “Thank you to the wonderful essential workers including our midwife who came to discharge our boy.”
The brunette beauty also mentioned who August is named after on her Instagram Story. “On his grandfather’s birthday weekend, thinking of my grandfather, we are introducing our little boy,” she wrote. “He is named after his great grandfather and both of his great x5 grandfathers. August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.”
The Royal Family Twitter account also shared the same picture, writing, “Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank have announced that they have named their son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. The couple have been touched by the well wishes they have received on the birth of their first child, and are delighted to share this first photo as a family.”
Eugenie’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, also gushed about the couple’s new arrival on social media. “As Grandparents, The Duke and I are thrilled and blessed at the arrival of our grandson August Philip Hawke Brooksbank,” she said. “He is a beautiful blessing and a bringer of such love and joy to all our Family. I am so proud of Jack and Eugenie, they are and will be wonderful parents.”
Earlier this week, fans thought Ferguson might have slipped and revealed the newborn’s name. In a video, she had several books she wrote displayed around her and one of them was called Fantastic Arthur.
One person asked, “Is this a sneak peek that her new grand’s name is Arthur?” while another added, “Please tell me HRH Princess Eugenie & Jack’s baby is named Arthur.”
Meanwhile, others thought Eugenie would name the baby after Prince Philip, who is currently still in the hospital in London.
"As we eagerly await the name of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's firstborn son to be revealed, there have been some changes in the betting market in the past day," Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom revealed. "Philip is still seeing a lot of love and has got even shorter at 10/3, with royal fans anticipating him being named after his great-grandfather."
