Diana, Princess of Wales was a fan of hand letter writing, and it has been revealed that one such memo she wrote in late September 1984, days after Prince Harry's birth, spoke about the loving bond between Prince William and his new baby brother.

"William adores his little brother and spends the entire time pouring an endless supply of hugs and kisses over Harry," the late royal gushed to Violet "Collie" Collison, her parents' head housekeeper at Park House on the Sandringham Estate.

The exact story behind the auction of Princess Diana's letters revolves around a collection of handwritten notes and cards that offer an intimate glimpse into her personal life and relationships. These letters, set to be auctioned by Sworders in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex, were written by Diana to her friend Collison. The assistant was a close confidante of Diana and her mother, the late Frances Shand-Kydd and the letters cover various aspects of Diana's life, including her family dynamics, emotions, and experiences as a member of the royal family.

The memos are expected to attract significant attention due to their historical and emotional value, shedding light on Diana's thoughts and feelings during pivotal moments in her life before her tragic death in 1997. This loving reminder comes amid Prince Harry's latest scandal where he will not be getting a royal lifeline from the Buckingham Palace Press Office in his crusade against British tabloids. This comes as the Duke of Sussex is set to air his grievances in the new documentary Tabloids on Trial. But the royal rebel's years-long rivalry with his elder brother has become one of the biggest focuses in recent royal news cycles.

The Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex have reportedly not spoken to one another since September 2022, and their "bitter feud" with one another seems to have "no end in sight." One new report sheds some insight into how it likely isn't just Meghan Markle causing most of the rift.

"William and Harry were such fun-loving children," said Ken Wharfe, the former protection officer to the childhood princes and a loyal friend to the late princess. "They loved to play fight and when they hit each other they meant it."

Wharfe spoke to author Robert Jobson during the latter's research for his 2013 book The New Royal Family: Prince George, William and Kate, The Next Generation. The tome was published around the time Kate, the then-Duchess of Cambridge, was expecting Prince George in July of that year.

Although close a kids, the feud between Diana and King Charles' sons is expected to rage on "for years."

"We will never know what Diana thinks of Kate or Meghan, but we do know how much she loved her boys, and I am sure their estrangement is devastating to her if there is an afterlife," a former royal insider during Diana's lifetime shared in 2021.
