Prince William Talks Spice Tolerance and His Upcoming Trip To Mumbai Ahead of Earthshot Prize
Prince William made an interesting confession, prompting the host to offer him a suggestion!
Prince William has always been one of the most beloved royals around the globe. Whether through his genuine kindness, his proactive spirit, or his warm and engaging presence, the Prince of Wales consistently creates memorable moments with his ardent fans and well-wishers. He did just that recently when he closed down The Mall, just outside Buckingham Palace, for an exciting game of cricket. Playing alongside some of the world's most renowned cricket legends, the Prince hosted the event to celebrate the upcoming Earthshot Prize ceremony taking place in Mumbai, India, next month.

Furthermore, William appeared on the BBC Asian Network Breakfast, where he spoke to the show’s host, Nikita Kanda. She remarked on the incredible atmosphere at The Mall during the cricket match, highlighting the trending Bollywood tracks playing in the background. When asked if this was his first time hosting an event like this, the Prince warmly replied, “Yeah, first time!” The conversation then took a lighthearted, unexpected turn when William candidly admitted his low tolerance for spicy food.

While discussing his diet with Nikki, he laughed, “Yeah, my spicy intake is pretty limited. I start sweating; it’s terrible!” The show’s host gave him a playful warning, saying, “Well, you need to get a hold of that because you’re going to Mumbai for the Earthshot Prize!” Turning to his upcoming trip, she asked what he was most excited about. The Prince of Wales warmly replied, “I’m really looking forward to the vibe!” before adding, “It’s one of the most vibrant cities I’ve been to.”

But that’s not all; William also spoke about India’s love for cricket. “The love of cricket out there is phenomenal; I have never known anything like it, and I love my sports. Obviously, football is my number one!” he shared. Explaining how the idea for the informal match came about, he said, “Seeing just how much Indians love cricket, this felt like a really fun thing to do—to get some of the icons from cricket onto The Mall. It’s an iconic setting and a great way to build excitement for Earthshot coming to Mumbai.” Ultimately, it’s clear that William is eager to embrace everything Mumbai has to offer!
