Prince William and Kate Middleton's Sweet PDA Stole the Spotlight From Harry and Meghan, Insider Claims
A source suggests Prince William and Kate's latest PDA moment sent a powerful message amid Harry and Meghan's royal reunion.
Prince Harry recently returned to the U.K., with Meghan Markle and their children joining him a while later, for a series of events. At the same time, the rest of the working Royal Family continued with their public duties, with Prince William making a special appearance at the annual Royal Charity Polo Cup alongside Kate Middleton. The Prince and Princess of Wales delighted fans at the event with a rare public display of affection, sharing a sweet moment that quickly captured attention. But while many saw it as a heartwarming glimpse into their relationship, an insider has now claimed the loved-up moment may have unintentionally shifted the spotlight away from Harry and Markle.
On Friday, June 10, King Charles reportedly spent the day privately reuniting with Harry, Markle, and his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, at Highgrove after a long time. Although it was a much-awaited royal reunion, reports suggest that no photographs were taken at that moment. On the other hand, on the very same day, William and Middleton were making headlines as cameras captured the couple sharing smiles together, and a special celebratory kiss following William's victory at the polo match.
Speaking to Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice, one insider said, “Pictures are the Palace’s most powerful weapon. Harry and Meghan may have secured a private family meeting away from London, but William and Kate owned the public narrative. That wasn’t an accident.” Another source claimed, “The Palace understands that a photograph is worth more than a hundred press releases.” In addition to this, some royal insiders went on to state that Buckingham Palace had no intention of allowing Harry and Markle's visit to dominate the news cycle, with other royal engagements continuing to receive all the attention.
A different source spoke of this and stated, “This is the Firm fighting back. Harry got his private family moment. William and Kate got the public victory. The Palace reminded everyone where the future of the monarchy lies—and they did it without saying a single word.” Meanwhile, the last time Charles and Harry were together was in September 2025, when the Duke visited his father at Clarence House in London. Back then, Buckingham Palace also confirmed that the duo met privately for tea. The visit lasted for about an hour before Harry left the King's residence.
As reported by HELLO Magazine, before their September 2025 meeting, Harry visited his dad in February 2024, after learning about his cancer diagnosis, and the two spent around 45 minutes together at Clarence House. Later on, in a May 2025 BBC interview, the Duke said, "I would love reconciliation with my family; there's no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has; he won't speak to me because of this security stuff." He even added, "If they don't want that, that's entirely up to them."
