Prince William Admits to Having a "Dodgy" Part-Time Job in His Younger Days
Prince William made an amusing revelation about his job in the younger days during his Welsh outing.
While visiting the Welsh village of Skenfrith this week to learn about its flood defenses, Prince William unexpectedly chanced upon an old contact. The brief conversation that followed took the Prince of Wales back to his younger days, when he worked the “dodgy” job of selling CDs.
William chatted with Rob and Helen Wyatt to learn how their family survived four major floods in six years at the Monmouthshire settlement. However, the couple had actually met the prince years ago when he was just a kid, and they were even his customers when the future royal used to sell CDs. “In Glanusk Estate—you sold me a CD from a bric-a-brac stall,” Rob reminded him, according to HELLO!
Remembering the times, the Prince of Wales laughed, “Dodgy car boot sale, yes, I remember that.” Matching his quick wit, Rob retorted, “Still doing that?” Never one to back down from a bit of banter, William replied, “No, I don’t sell… it’s dried up a bit, that one; perhaps I should reopen it.” While Helen admitted they couldn’t quite remember the title of the CD, the prince fondly added, “I got up to a lot… we had some fun round there.”
William had an eventful outing on Thursday, visiting several locations. He also got down and dirty, indulging in daily activities such as driving a tractor, seed collection, and tree planting. He even brought out his inner child, spotted enthusiastically jumping over fences.
The active outing serves as a stepping stone for his ongoing environmental efforts. Later this year, he and Kate Middleton will travel to Mumbai, India, for the Earthshot Prize ceremony. Marking a monumental milestone, the ambitious 10-year global initiative will officially cross its midpoint.
Earlier this week, William and Middleton travelled to the AMT Headingley Stadium in Leeds to honor the legacy of rugby player Rob Burrow, who suffered from MND. The couple also met families affected by MND and cheered on Burrow’s teammate, Kevin Sinfield, on day 3 of his 7-day ultramarathon.
