Prince William Accidentally Recreated Princess Diana’s Most Adorable Moment — and Every Parent Will Get It
Prince William unknowingly once made the same honest error like his mother and possibly due to a similar reason.
Being a parent is not for the weak. The new, beautiful chapter in one’s life often brings sleepless nights, fatigue, and a drain on energy. The royals may have always had an incredible resilience against terrible jet lag, but they are not immune to the trials and tribulations of parenthood. Prince William and Princess Diana both accidentally revealed their exhaustion through amusingly similar moments years apart.
William and Kate Middleton welcomed their third child, Prince Louis, in April 2018. Days after his birth, the then-Duke of Cambridge attended the Anzac Day Service at Westminster Abbey alongside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The toll of looking after three kids, one of them newborn, and his postpartum wife seemingly took over him for a moment as he appeared to doze off in his seat. However, the dutiful royal immediately composed himself as the service was underway.
His mother had undergone a similar situation when she was pregnant with him. Although the world didn’t know of her delicate condition at the time, the 20-year-old Diana was understandably tired during an appearance at an exhibition gala in 1981. Suffering through the challenges of her first trimester, having just finished a royal tour, and after a busy day, she fell asleep in her cozy velvet chair at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The media seemingly dubbed her ‘Sleeping Beauty’, turning what could have been an awkward moment into an adorable memory. The Palace announced her pregnancy the very next day.
During her first pregnancy with Prince George, Middleton suffered from severe morning sickness. So much so that, at one point, William had to cancel his attendance at the British Military Tournament at Earl’s Court to stay home with his wife. According to US Weekly, he even explained the extent of her condition to former Centrepoint Chairman Michael O'Higgins. “I don't know why they call it morning sickness; they should call it all day and all night sickness,” he said. The loving husband further added that Middleton’s recovery had been “a long old process”.
The now-Prince and Princess of Wales have seemingly taken a lot of inspiration from Diana’s parenting style. The couple is heavily focused on raising their children with as much normalcy as possible. They have also displayed a more open approach with their three kids and have slowly introduced them to the royal world. William and Middleton also take part in parents’ sports activities at their children’s schools, just like Diana did.
Previously, William had revealed that he talked to his kids about their late grandmother. The three children had once dedicated Mother’s Day cards to their beloved granny.
