Peter Phillips’ Future Wife Harriet Sperling Has More in Common With Kate Middleton Than You’d Think
Peter Phillips’s bride Harriet Sperling is already drawing Kate Middleton comparisons, from her style choices to her shared passions.
Wedding bells are on the horizon as Peter Phillips gets ready to tie the knot for the second time, this time with Harriet Sperling. However, royal enthusiasts are noticing far more about Sperling than just her status as a future royal bride. Striking comparisons are already being drawn between her and Princess Kate, and the resemblance is truly uncanny.
Sperling's connection with the Princess of Wales goes far beyond joining the royal circle. For starters, both women come from non-aristocratic families. Moreover, as per the Daily Mail, the NHS nurse has already shown a similar taste in fashion, stepping out in brands loved by Middleton, such as Self Portrait and Beulah. She even triggered her own mini "Kate effect" recently after wearing a Dilli Grey dress, as demand for the outfit spiked so dramatically that the artisanal brand quickly released an updated version to keep up.
But the Kate comparisons do not stop at fashion. Reports suggest that they also share similar passions, particularly when it comes to children and early development. A trained NHS nurse specializing in pediatrics, Sperling is said to be deeply invested in childhood well-being. Her online bio describes her as “passionate about early brain development in babies and seeing children thrive.” Like Kate, Sperling's interests extend beyond royal appearances. A trained NHS pediatric nurse, she has spoken openly about the importance of early childhood development and helping children thrive.
There may be another unexpected Kate parallel, too. Sperling is known to be a writer and has openly shared personal reflections about both her Christian faith and life as a single mother. In one heartfelt post, she wrote, “My daughter and I journeyed 10 years with only each other. I liken us to an island, and it has often felt hard to imagine anyone joining that island.” Kate, meanwhile, has also used writing to champion causes close to her heart, including her essay The Power of Human Connection in a Distracted World, published through the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
As for Phillips, the Princess Royal's son, split from his first wife, Autumn, back in 2020 after 12 years of marriage. They share two daughters, Savannah and Isla. He made his relationship with Sperling public at the beginning of 2024, and they announced their engagement in August 2025.
The couple is set to marry in Kemble, Gloucestershire, on Saturday, 6 June. The ceremony will take place privately at All Saints Church, and the guest list is expected to include senior royal faces, including his mother, Princess Anne; his uncle, King Charles; and his cousin, Prince William. According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not on the guest list along with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson.
