NFL Stars Travis and Jason Kelce Once Revealed What They Thought About Princess Charlotte
Princess Charlotte, Prince George, and Prince William met the Kelce brothers backstage at the Eras Tour show.
In 2024, the stars seemed to align, bringing together the worlds of music, the NFL, and British royalty in one room. To put it non-lyrically, in June 2024, Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte attended Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Wembley Stadium, where they met the singer-songwriter, her now-fiancé, Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason Kelce, both NFL stars, backstage.
Photos from the star-studded gathering quickly went viral on social media, and the Kelce brothers also talked about the meeting on their popular podcast, New Heights. And it appears that William, who was celebrating his 42nd birthday that evening, was definitely overshadowed by his then-9-year-old daughter Charlotte as the Kelces claimed meeting her was the “highlight” of the interaction. “I gotta say, Prince William was fantastic, but the highlight was Princess Charlotte. Prince George was great, too. She was so f****** adorable. Like, I cannot…” Jason said, to which Travis agreed, saying, “She was”.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end further mentioned that Charlotte was a “superstar”. Jason, who himself is a girl dad, continued showering praise on the young royal as he said, “She had fire to her. She was asking questions. That was the most electric part (of the meeting).” Travis then credited William and Kate Middleton for good parenting as he said, “I love it when parents ask their kids to be present, be vocal…” before Jason added, “Encourage them to take a lead in the conversation.”
The brothers went on to say they were unsure how to greet the royals. “They were an absolute delight to meet. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to bow, curtsy, or just be an American idiot and shake their hand,” Travis said. “We wanted to be polite, especially on this side of the pond.” Jason also mentioned that since the concert was not an official royal event, they didn’t need to bow or curtsy. However, they did do their due diligence when addressing William. “But I did still address him as your royal highness,” Jason said, prompting Travis to joke that he had never seen his older brother “give someone that much respect”.
Charlotte, who sported an adorable hairstyle of half-up and half-down hair with two small braids, looked excited as she posed for a picture with Swift. It seemed that the trio indeed had a lot of fun at the concert. William could even be seen dancing to ‘Shake It Off’ in a viral video.
Incidentally, Swift and William have known each other for around a decade. They had performed ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ with Jon Bon Jovi for a charity event at Kensington Palace in 2013.
