Exclusive: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Have 'Recommenced Their Attacks' Since Kate Middleton and King Charles' Cancer Diagnoses
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are nothing if not consistent, and the duo have continued their attacks on the Crown even with Catherine, Princess of Wales and King Charles III's dual cancer diagnoses.
With this in mind, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams exclusively tells The Royal Observer that any retaliation by the monarch, such as stripping their titles, could potentially be a "bad idea."
"It is a matter for Parliament," he adds when mentioning how the British government would be responsible for removing the pair's "Duke and Duchess of Sussex" titles.
The renowned royal commentator then predicted how "Kamala Harris may be good news for her" when highlighting the "ultra-liberal" Vice President's popularity in the American political polls ahead of the November 5 election.
He then grimly concludes by stating how things are "tough for the royal family" in comparison. This insight comes amid a challenging year for the Crown as its two star players grapple with fending off cancer.
"All of a sudden, the slimmed-down monarchy by default is looking very slim, so they are thin on the ground, and obviously, were they still working royals, Harry and Meghan could have taken up a lot of the slack," royal expert Phil Dampier told an outlet. "So it is frustrating. But we are where we are, and in some ways, you know, we're going to have to wait until George, Charlotte and Louis, are another 10 years older before they can start performing duties."
"Not only is there the pressure on William but also the constant sniping from California," royal author Tom Bower told an outlet in May. "I'm sure he’s furious with Harry, he’s behaved appallingly."
The Princess of Wales shared in late March that she was undergoing chemotherapy treatments after an area of her abdomen was revealed to have been cancerous before her surgery on January 16. This followed the monarch's revelation of being diagnosed with an unknown form of cancer on February 5. A shortage of working royals ensued as the Prince of Wales broke with tradition and put his family before the Crown in his dedication to care for his ailing wife.
During these struggles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took to the PR circuit to promote the Suits stars' new venture and their upcoming Netflix projects.
Bower added: "Not only by the way he left England and exploited his royal connections but also his book — the things he said about the Waleses were so outrageous, rude, unfair and in my opinion, untrue. It’s a real struggle for the Waleses."
Meghan's launch of her venture in March was labeled "insensitive" by her former pal, Lizzie Cundy, which Bower also agrees with. "One just always feels like there may be some sort of secret glee in Montecito," the author observed. "While they’re establishing this so-called brand Sussex, the family here is going through torment. After Charles' diagnosis, Harry came over for half an hour, and that’s it, he’s done nothing else."
