Meghan Markle Celebrates Prince Harry’s 41st Birthday With the Steamiest Throwback Yet

Prince Harry turned 41 on September 15, and no one was more celebratory than his better half, Meghan Markle. To mark the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex shared a rare throwback photo on Instagram from the Duke’s 31st birthday with the flirty caption, "On Hi, Birthday Boy." The photo honored his veteran status, showing him in military uniform staring into the camera, wearing his former surname, 'Wales,' on his badge. The post comes just a day after Markle had marked her husband’s return to the US with a sweet picture on Instagram.

The photo shows Harry from his visit to the Goodwood Aerodrome, where he marked the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. He was sporting a green jumpsuit. The 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain was marked by a historic flypast that brought more aircraft together as a show of thanks to ‘The Few’ (the crew of the Royal Air Force and some Allied Forces who fought in 1940) and the sacrifices they made. This year, the Battle of Britain celebrated its 85th anniversary.

Last year, for his milestone 40th birthday, the Duke of Sussex enjoyed a private celebration with Markle and their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in Montecito. He told PEOPLE through his spokesperson that he is looking forward to his 40s with a renewed focus on fatherhood. He said, "The best gift I’ve ever been given is, without doubt, my kids. I enjoy watching them grow every single day and love being their dad." Ahead of his 40th, he also told the BBC, "I was anxious about 30, I’m excited about 40. Whatever the age, my mission is to continue showing up and doing good in the world."
While Markle warmly wished her husband on social media, King Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton did not post any birthday tributes for the Duke. Royal watchers were expecting a post from them, considering Harry’s recent private meeting with the King on September 10. Last year, in a rare olive branch moment, the royal family's social media accounts shared birthday tributes for Harry. A post from Charles’s official Instagram read, "Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!" Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales had reshared the same on X (formerly Twitter), adding their own celebratory message, "Wishing a Happy 40th Birthday to the Duke of Sussex."

A day before Harry’s birthday, Markle posted a photo, featuring two wine glasses, indicating that she was enjoying some quality time with her husband in a picnic setting. She cheekily captioned the post, "When your beau is back in town…" She has previously also posted sweet throwbacks of the Duke on Father’s Day and Valentine's Day.
