Catherine, Princess of Wales, waited a long time to return to national public life, and for a majority of royal fans, her convalescence led the way to a "stunning" return with Trooping the Colour! Her Royal Highness kicked off her first public engagement of 2024 in a white Jenny Packham dress with "naval-inspired" black trim and a matching hat.

Princess Kate's first carriage procession of 2024.

The future queen appeared with other senior members of the royal family including her husband, William, Prince of Wales, who rode on horseback during the military parade, as well as King Charles III and Queen Camilla, who rode in a carriage. But it was her guidance of her three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, that stole the show for many observers (certainly us).

After her balcony appearance and "sensational" return to fashion, many fans are now left wondering when they will see the princess return to her charitable duties on the public front. As The Royal Observer previously reported, HRH recently said in a statement: "I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times."

She added: "I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well. My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months," the queen-in-waiting wrote via Instagram on Friday, June 14.

Official footage of Kate's Trooping the Colour return.

On X, adoring fans and casual spectators largely celebrated the Princess of Wales' return to royal life.

Someone wrote: "The Princess of Wales bringing the sunshine to a damp day in London as she accompanies her children to the King’s birthday parade," while another pointed out: "Glad to see you back, you have been missed, glad [to] see you looking well [and] beautiful smile xx."

Some "Kate trolls" were out and about in the comments section, but one fan replied to the few negative responses and stated: "Why on Earth anyone would hate her is beyond me. I don't think she's ever set a foot wrong. She's an inspirational woman, now a cancer survivor to inspire those of us fighting everywhere. She's absolutely someone to look up to. I am entirely jealous of her also."
