Harry and Meghan’s Upcoming Tour Will Have 'Cameras Documenting Everything': Expert
The project is being conceived as a glossy travel and food documentary which will shed light on Australia’s culture, cuisine, along with its landscapes.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming visit to Australia may double as a series production. Insiders have come forward to claim cameras will follow the couple throughout the trip. Their philanthropic mission in Australia, scheduled for mid-April, is reportedly being documented as part of a potential streaming project and will turn what initially appears as a mere international trip into a carefully filmed lifestyle venture.
As per sources who spoke to Royal journalist Rob Shuter for his Substack, Naughty but Nice, the couple is set to document their travels with a production team capturing moments from their trip. According to an insider, “This isn’t just a tour. Cameras will be there documenting everything.” The same source further explained that the project is being conceived as a glossy travel and food documentary which will shed light on Australia’s culture, cuisine, and its landscapes. The Sussexes will allegedly be the central hosts and faces of the program
As the project is being curated, insiders suggested that it will be about fusing travel lifestyle and culinary experience. Something Markle has already done with her show, With Love, Meghan, but on a larger scale. The same insider shared, “Think travel, food, and lifestyle. It’s being pitched as a love letter to Australia.” The news of the project has come at a time when Markle has reportedly been exploring new creative partnerships.
As per the source, the move was prompted after streaming giant Netflix stepped back from supporting the Duchess’s broader ambitions in terms of production. Shuter had previously revealed that she had quietly been in touch with Kris Jenner about potential streaming collaborations and an introduction to the entertainment industry. The source added, “Kris understands the streaming business better than almost anyone. She’s been advising Meghan on where to take projects next.” Hence, the Sussexes’ upcoming Australia trip could be the ultimate next move in their newly formed media strategy. The insider mentioned, “They want something beautiful, aspirational, and global. Australia is the perfect backdrop.” The shift also aligns with Markle’s decision to move forward with her lifestyle brand, As Ever. While the brand was started in partnership with Netflix, it was recently announced by The Sun that the streaming giant will no longer be involved.
A spokesperson from As Ever stated, “As ever is grateful for Netflix’s partnership through launch and our first year. We have experienced meaningful and rapid growth, and As ever is now ready to stand on its own. We have an exciting year ahead and can’t wait to share more.”
