During the May 14 celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT) in central London, a classroom of drama students from CORE Education schools in Birmingham were participating in an acting exercise. The acting teacher instructed the students to improvise how they would react if they met the King. Just as the teacher called out, "Three, two, one, come to life," King Charles walked through the door, accompanied by actor and NYMT alumnus Sir Idris Elba. The students completely exploded with genuine excitement and shock upon realizing the actual monarch was standing right in front of them.
