After learning about flood defence last week, the Prince of Wales seemingly shifted his focus to understanding resilience against wildfires. On Tuesday, he met with members of the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service during his visit to the Ilminster Fire Station.
During his special visit to Somerset on Tuesday, William seemed to take inspiration from Princess Kate, as he was spotted excitedly high-fiving schoolchildren. He certainly didn't make the kids feel the absence of the 'Children's Princess,' and that's an achievement not many brag about!
Jamila Akhtar waited 80 years to meet a member of the royal family, and it might have been worth it. When the moment finally came, William made the meeting very heartwarming and special, and even crouched down to take pictures with her.
William arrives at Sweet Surprise, a small café in the town, to meet with its staff. The business is well-known for providing employment opportunities for those with learning disabilities. The Prince of Wales looked emotional as he spoke with Tina Groves, a local business owner.


William and Ross Kemp joined volunteers and young folks for a training exercise on emergency scenarios aimed at testing community preparedness.

Ready Together is led by the National Emergencies Trust, of which Mr Kemp is an ambassador and William a patron. It aims to help communities across the UK prepare for emergencies. The visit comes after Somerset was hit by wildfires and extreme flooding over the last year.
